Hugo 2 Is Highly Volatile
Hugo’s back with a sequel to the fantabulous Hugo slot game, featuring a new multi-level bonus game and free spins feature, plus up to x8 multipliers for up to x5,000 your bet on the free spins feature and a 96% RTP.
Welcome back Hugo – the lovable troll from the 1990’s Danish kids show that took the world by storm. This time, Hugo’s transporting his treasures up the railroad tracks set to a cartoony soundtrack and reel spins to the sound of the pick axe hitting metal, or rock. There are 5 reels, 10 paylines and 8 base symbols. Hugo himself is the Wild and pays out up to 75 coins, while 3 beavers trigger the free spins feature and 3+ evil witch “Afskylia” symbols triggers the Skull bonus game.
The free spins feature starts with 10 free spins that can be retriggered, but also has a few extra features layered in. When you get the ‘cleaver beaver’ the first time it gives you 5 extra free spins, while the second time triggers the Skull Cave bonus game with x3 lives. You can also collect up to 2 bags of gold or 2 gold coins on each free spin. When you collect 4+ bags, x4 wilds are added to the free spin reels and for 4+ coins, you get 4 multipliers, x2, which can give you a maximum of up to x8 your wins!
The Skull Cave Bonus game has multiple levels and is triggered by 3+ witch symbols and for each additional witch symbols, you get one extra life up to three lives. In the cave, you first have to choose one of 3 pillars x3 times, of which one has a prize, one has a prize and kills you and the third just kills you: that’s where the extra lives come in handy. If you make it past the pillars, you have to choose the key that opens the chest of gold for the grand mystery coin prize with x5 multiplier!
Yes, this is a highly volatile game, but after playing for an hour, we hadn’t triggered the free spins even once and couldn’t make it past the second round of pillars in the Skull Cave bonus game. Plus the payout rate is pretty low in the base game. If you’re a die-hard fan of Hugo, we recommend you check out the original Hugo video slot: Some sequels just shouldn’t be made!
